Knelson Milling Solutions provides complete design and construction services for vertical fine grinding technology. This innovative technology can be used within the metallurgical process and also as a solution for dump re-treatment projects. The Knelson-Deswik Mill is used to grind feed material to a specific particle size, ensuring improved performance of downstream metallurgical leach or flotation processes. The mills are also commonly used in precious and base metal regrinds.
This revolutionary mill has proved to be a highly efficient machine for the reduction of metal bearing ores resulting in greater liberation of primary material for much higher froth flotation and leach recovery rates.
This technology is an efficient alternative to conventional ball mills on secondary and tertiary run of mine milling circuits.
The unique design of the Knelson-Deswik Mill allows it to outperform similar technologies in key areas:
- Capital cost
- Flexible design
- Installed power per ton processed
- Operating and maintenance costs
- Higher throughput and availability
- Smaller footprint
- Automation and data collection
The Knelson-Deswik Mill can produce particle sizes from a D-50 of 300 micron down to sub 10 micron. This is achieved over a range of some 200 different products at energy consumption levels as low as 5 kWh/ton.
